Garry Li is an illustration student at SVA (School of Visual Arts) working toward becoming a professional illustrator. Growing up in a small town in northern China and now studying in New York City’s international metropolis, he explores how to reconcile tradition and modernity through his art – a direct response to the cultural shock between these two worlds.  

 

Garry’s work mostly blends realism and surrealism, drawing inspiration from everyday life. He loves experimenting with watercolor washes and precise ink linework to capture his observations.
